Endoscopic Imaging Technologies Training Program

Endoscopic Imaging Technologies Training Program

Module 1

General knowledge of the optimization aspects of endoscopic visualization, including the latest advances in image acquisition technologies.

Conventional chromoendoscopy. Basis, principles, techniques and clinical applications.

Chromoendoscopy by contrast (e.g. indigo carmine, acetic acid) or absorption (methylene blue, lugol, cresyl violet, etc.). Virtual chromoendoscopy.

Principles, techniques, technologies and clinical applications. Enhanced digital imaging endoscopy combining high definition with real-time virtual chromoendoscopy (e.g. I-SCAN).

“Optical Enhancement” combination of digital and optical chromoendoscopy highlighting surface pattern and vascular pattern morphology providing various multimodal electronic chromoendoscopy platforms.

Optical zoom magnification technology (e.g. MagniView) allowing detailed observation of surface structures and enhanced characterization.

Teaching the use in routine clinical practice of advanced image optimization technologies in digestive tract pathology (e.g.
Barrett’s esophagus, non-erosive reflux disease, inflammatory bowel disease, colonic polyps, gastric metaplasia or dysplasia, etc.).
