Resection Techniques Training Program

Resection Techniques Training Program

Module 1 (Basic)

Understanding of the indications, risks, limitations and complications of polypectomy. Different polypectomy techniques (cold forceps, hot forceps, cold loops, traditional loops, etc.).

Understanding of the different biomedical devices and/or accessories involved in this technique.

Learning of skills and abilities within a theoretical framework provided by the instructors for the performance of endoscopic polypectomies.

Module 2 (Advanced)

Understanding of the indications, risks, limitations and complications of “difficult” polyp resection and endoscopic mucosectomy.

Polypectomy technique of the difficult large sessile polyp and the large pedunculated polyp.

Resection by en bloc mucosectomy technique of superficial non-polypoid lesions of esophagus, stomach, duodenum, colon and rectum.

Mucosectomy with piecemeal technique of laterally extended lesions of colon and rectum.

Understanding of the different biomedical devices and/or accessories involved in these techniques.

Learning of skills and abilities within a theoretical framework provided by the instructors for the resection of “difficult” polyps and the performance of endoscopic mucosectomy.

Module 3 (Tertiary)

Understanding of the indications, risks, limitations and complications of submucosal endoscopic dissection.

Submucosal endoscopic dissection of superficial neoplastic lesions of esophagus, stomach, colon and rectum.

Understanding of the different biomedical devices and/or accessories involved in this technique.

Learning of skills and abilities within a theoretical framework provided by the instructors for the performance of submucosal endoscopic dissection.

Development of clinical research studies of new techniques, technological innovation and/or new applications of the existing ones in Advanced Resections.

• Transmural endoscopic resection.
• STER (Submucosal Tunneling Endoscopic Resection)
